Arizona Unemployment Insurance Benefits

New! The Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) program expired on September 6, 2021. The final payable week for PEUC was the benefit week ending September 4, 2021.

Claimants receiving benefits from any unemployment program must complete work-search activities every week, beginning on May 23, 2021, and log those work search activities when they file their weekly claims beginning on May 30, 2021. To learn more, visit our Work Search web page.

Federal regulations state that applicants cannot receive benefits in both Canada and the United States. As the pandemic continues and with more unique circumstances among applicants, this question needs to be answered when people file their regular unemployment insurance claim each week. The question has been updated and, starting next week, it will now say, "Are you currently receiving unemployment benefits from CANADA?" If this change affected your payment, DES will amend its response to process your weekly claim this week. If this was the only issue on your claim, you should see the resolution and payment soon. You do not need to contact DES to resolve this issue. PUA applicants are NOT affected.
